The purpose of this note is to give you some facts about our school. However the best way to obtain this information is to come and visit us and see for yourselves what St. James' School is all about.
Our aim is to provide the very best opportunities for each child to develop their full potential whether it may be academic, sporting or creative. It is important that they enjoy school, work hard and feel a real sense of achievement and pride.
St James' motto is Care Share and Respect and we strongly believe that if everyone works as a team the school will be a happy place where everyone can do their best. It is only when home / school links are strong that we can achieve all that we want for our children.
As Head Teacher I really do feel very privileged to be apart of this amazing school.
This year academic standards are high yet again but we also try to cover all aspects of school life having just gained the Healthy Schools Standard Award. This recognises our promotion of school milk, our healthy eating tuck shop and provision of filtered water. We have already achieved the Sports Active Mark and Basketball Mark for our commitment to physical education and the Art Mark for our work in the creative arts of music, art and dance l drama.
Our approach to creative learning has been duly recognised and the school is now involved in National initiatives.
But the future still holds more for the pupils of SJS.
We continue to strive for excellence, are committed to raising standards and are determined to make St. James' a school to be proud of.
Yours sincerely
Angela Rawlinson
